Youtube is introducing long-awaited updates to its iOS and Android mobile app. They include several functions that will make managing and watching video content much easier.

Youtube has updated its mobile application, writes The Verge. We are talking about new gestures that will make it easier to view and control videos. In addition, the application has received a number of additional functions and new player controls. Updates are available on the iOS and Android app.

The first and, perhaps, the most important thing worth talking about is the appearance of a new gesture to control the full-screen video mode. Now, to switch to full screen mode, just swipe up on the video window. Accordingly, moving your finger down will return the video screen to its standard position.

The video player now has several new buttons - a closed caption toggle over the playback window and a video autoplay toggle. The user can also click on the timestamp of the video to select which timeline will be displayed - how much time is left or how much time has passed since the beginning of the video.

In addition, the application will recommend certain actions to the user. For example, rotate your phone to view content more conveniently or use a VR headset. In the future, Youtube promises to add a few more user recommendations...
