France Channel to use Netgem tech in new streaming service

New streaming service France Channel is to use a multiscreen platform developed by Netgem.

France Channel is following a similar model to the UK’s BritBox when it launches in the United States in the next few months. It will bring together French language movies, series, animation and documentaries.

“The partnership with Netgem is strategic for the development of our international service. We are delighted to kick off this journey with a recognised technology player who shares with us the vision for this unprecedented project,” said France Channel founder Julien Verley. “We’re looking forward to becoming the go-to destination for all French and French culture enthusiasts in the United States and beyond.”

Netgem’s multiscreen platform is already in operation as MyVIDEOFUTUR and in the UK with Netgem TV for Fibre Internet Service Providers.

Netgem will provide France Channel with an end-to-end solution delivered “as a Service”, enabling SVOD services in multi-screen mode as well as rich features for a fast, intuitive and immersive user experience.

“We are very pleased to take part in this ambitious project alongside France Channel and to help French programming reach more audiences and cross new borders,” said Netgem Group CEO, Mathias Hautefort.

The application developed by Netgem will be available on iOS, Android, the Web and on Roku.
