New DTT channel for Latvia

Latvia’s National Electronic Media Council (NEPLP) has launched a tender for a new national commercial DTT channel.

According to the regulator, it will be unencrypted and make its debut on April 1, 2021.

It adds that an agreement for the channel’s distribution has been concluded between itself and the Latvian State Radio and Television Centre (LVTRC).

The channel will be broadcast in Latvian and between April 1 and December 31 it will be on air for 24 hours daily and allocate at least 60% of its airtime to Latvian content.
