Xiaomi will return to the tablet market to counter the iPad and Galaxy Tab..

Post by sanjay kumar »

In the absence of Huawei, Xiaomi would like to face the Apple / Samsung duopoly in the tablet market. The brand will soon announce new Mi Pads, although it has not released anything for several years.

Huawei's geopolitical setbacks are shaking the electronics market. Very popular in the smartphone market, Xiaomi has never found success with its Mi Pad tablets, which were discontinued in 2018.

Only Huawei (around 4% of the global market) is still trying to steal market share from the duopoly of Apple (around 55% of the market) and Samsung (around 25%), but US sanctions may soon crush its attempts.

According to several Chinese media, Xiaomi will come back in force in this market. Three high-end tablets would soon be announced by the brand, which would count on taking advantage of its new international notoriety not to be limited to China.

Xiaomi, future tablet giant?

It must be said that it is not easy to launch a good tablet. Largely because of Android, manufacturers have never succeeded in offering a good user experience on this type of device.

Samsung (thanks to DeX mode) and Apple (thanks to iPadOS) are exceptions, even if the applications are often much more suited to large screens on Californian products.

Despite its best efforts, Huawei has often given us the impression of only releasing a "very large smartphone", applications often content to offer the same thing in a bigger way.

If we trust the rumors, the three tablets from Xiaomi would use a high-end processor (the Snapdragon 870 for two of them, the Snapdragon 860 for the less expensive).

These three Mi Pads would have an LCD screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz (800x2560), which is similar to Apple's iPad Pro (we imagine that there will be several sizes). Logic would also want Xiaomi to launch a keyboard and stylus adapted to its new devices.

By digging into the MIUI code, the sites specializing in Xiaomi also discovered that these three tablets should have four speakers, support ultra-fast charging and, to our surprise, be compatible with wireless charging.

Tablets do not normally need this. The NFC would also be there, which would allow you to pay with your tablet (or use it as a receiver?)

It is not yet known when Xiaomi will announce the return of its Mi Pads. In view of its good reputation in France and its ability to cut prices, the manufacturer could, one hopes, succeed in its bet...
