Available today on the Boulanger site and in Xiaomi stores, the Mi Smart Speaker is a connected speaker likely to compete with Google's Nest Audio.
Xiaomi is entering the arena of connected speakers. After several products of this kind in China, the king of quality-price ratio relies on the Google Assistant to conquer Europe.
Marketed at a price of 59.99 euros (49.99 euros at launch), the Mi Smart Speaker is a Wi-Fi speaker similar to Google Nest Audio . It has been found for several days in official Xiaomi stores and from today at Boulanger.
A new option on the market
There are very few differences between Xiaomi's speaker and Google's. Completely integrated into the Californian ecosystem, the Mi Smart Speaker allows you to interact with Google Assistant, integrates a Chromecast Audio and can even create stereo pairs or operate in multiroom.
Two microphones are present in the speaker to recognize the keywords "OK Google" and "Hey Google" . Google Assistant is the only artificial intelligence present on this device since Xiao, Xiaomi's voice assistant in China, does not yet speak French.
Along with the Mi Smart Speaker, Xiaomi announces the launch of a new connected watch at a discounted price, the Mi Watch Lite. Marketed at a price of 69.99 euros (49.99 euros at launch), the latter looks like an Apple Watch but is logically content with less.
Sign that this 2021 start-up is busy for Xiaomi, the Chinese manufacturer will organize a conference on Friday to announce the Redmi Note 9T, its first entry-level 5G mobile. A date is also expected for the launch of the high-end Mi 11 in Europe...
