BADR-6 failed completely on the Arabsat satellites co-positioned on the satellite position 26 degrees East at around 8:30 p.m. German time. All satellite transponders that have been in operation have disappeared from the frequency spectrum.
Despite various reactivation measures, BADR-6 could no longer be revived on Monday evening. As an emergency measure, the satellite operator has therefore gradually switched over the transponders to the remaining BADR satellites. It remains to be seen whether all the failed transmission signals will find space on the Arabsat satellites that are still working. The first investigations into the possible reason for the complete failure are to start that night. Currently, neither a technical defect nor an attack from outside can be ruled out.

The reasons for the failure are currently unclear. According to insider reports, all channels were transferred to the BADR 5 satellite on Tuesday night. The BADR 5 satellite is also co-positioned at the orbital position 26° East. The orbiter is the best with 46 active KU-band Beams and 4 K-band Beams. The KU band beams are partially controllable so that they can also be aimed at the MENA region.
