Megogo adds 4K movie content...

Post by sanjay kumar »

The online video and TV services provider Megogo has expanded its offer to include 4K films.

From now, viewers will be able to watch Universal Pictures’ films in the format.

According to Megogo, it has also integrated additional content protection technology, namely digital watermarks developed by ContentArmor and approved by Hollywood Studios. Universal Picture films in 4K are being offered by Megogo in its Premieres section and sold per title.

The company says that it has one of the largest 4K content libraries in Eastern Europe and has also been showing football broadcasts in 4K since 2019.

Ivan Shestakov, chief innovation officer at Megogo, added: “We work every day to make Megogo even more convenient and user-friendly. In addition to continuously improving functionality, we are increasing the content supply. For us, as a legitimate service, protecting content from pirates has always been a priority. By expanding the tools for 4K content protection, we will not only improve the work of the legal market but will also be able to offer our users even more exclusive content”.

Eric Bénetière, CCO at ContentArmor, said: ‘Over the last months, premium VOD titles have achieved record audiences over OTT streaming services. Nevertheless, pirate video services did not stay at bay either. We are delighted to collaborate with Megogo and their content partners to further secure their investment in premium video titles”.
