Ukrainian channel secures Czech distribution...

The Czech national transmission company CRa has begun distributing the Ukrainian TV channel 1+1 on the national multiplex 23.

Commenting on the development, CRa’s CEO Vit Vazan said: “We want to contribute as best we can. This is due to the free and highly available distribution of the Ukrainian channel 1 + 1, so that people have the opportunity to get information in their native language about what is happening in their country.

“The flexibility of digital terrestrial television allows us to start broadcasting the complete program of the 1 + 1 station. The broadcast will run from April 11 and will last as needed”.

Jozef Síkela, the Czech Minister of Trade and Industry, added: “I fully understand how important it is for people fleeing Russian aggression to maintain regular contact with their homeland. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is already coordinating the assistance provided to Ukrainian refugees by mobile operators in the Czech Republic. The launch of the Ukrainian TV channel 1 + 1 on our territory is another way to help, and that is why I very much welcome it”.

1+1 is on air for 24 hours daily. Around 53% of households in the Czech Republic was terrestrial TV. Terrestrial TV services cover over 99% of the country are free to watch...
