Independent video software provider Synamedia has launched Synamedia OTT ServiceGuard to exclude streaming pirates.
Synamedia OTT ServiceGuard is the first solution on the market to protect content on all open platforms, be it mobile, browsers or smart TVs, and the first to extend the protection of the service to the CDN itself, preventing pirates from stealing content on the point of distribution.
As video service providers face increased pressure from rights holders to combat piracy, the new solution makes it possible to distribute content securely on open platforms by validating that only legitimate subscribers and applications have access to and receive content.
To guard against common methods used by hackers to steal content and an OTT service, Synamedia OTT ServiceGuard provides each customer with a unique identity that cannot be cloned and assigns strong keys to sign service requests, ensuring that all messages of customers are validated for their authenticity and origin.
The solution will be continually improved as Synamedia's operational security team detects new vulnerabilities, officials said.
What is clear is that illegal IPTV services may see their performances diminished from now on.
