German media company Axel Springer will distribute the TV channel of its tabloid newspaper BILD on Astra (19.2° East) to DTH satellite households.
BILD, which launches on August 22, 2021, will broadcast as a free-to-air service in HD quality on the frequency 10.964 GHz H. Notably, no SD transmission is planned.
Springer subsidiary WeltN24 has rented the capacity in a new multi-year contract, Astra operator SES announced in Luxembourg. SES will also provide signal uplink and playout services for the new channel.
